The JPEG DAO NFTrees Press Release

The JPEG DAO is proud to announce its first major philanthropy project in collaboration with the Seneca Park Zoo Society to combat rapid deforestation in Madagascar. Through the creation of a local tree nursery sponsored by JPEG DAO, the Seneca Zoo Society team will manage and plant thousands of endemic trees with the involvement of local communities. Endemic trees are trees that are only found in one area of the world and they provide a vital habitat for Madagascar’s unique and important biodiversity. The JPEG DAO will begin this philanthropic journey by minting special digital collectibles on Litemint.com to raise funds for this noble cause.

The project is called “NFTrees” and has it’s very own Litemint Store Here! The first artist contributing will be Litemint’s Top Creator, Gnaw, the Bear! The first and flagship collectible to be released is a depiction of a hand planting a sapling. This is a beautiful representation of the project’s impacts and goals. There will be a minted supply of 2,022 copies offered at $10 USDC. For every purchased digital collectible, 20 Trees will be planted by locals (about 5% of 1 acre). Owning this flagship digital collectible will give the option through InstantDAO, to vote on project activities in the future. Holders will also have access to timely reports and impact data showing the importance of the forests they create.
